Welcome to CORFU island - KAVOS INFORMATION

All the way in the southeastern point of Corfu, just before the cape of Asprokavos with its abondonned monastery, lies the "party village" of Kavos with its beautiful three kilometer long beach. It is a village for young single people that enjoy the nightlife because Kavos is a vibrant place with lots of bars and discotheques that stay open until early in the morning. There are also plenty of restaurants and, mostly smaller, hotels and apartment buildings, and also villas to chose from for accommodation. All facilities like umbrellas and sunbeds, and a variety of watersports that you can do are here. From Kavos it is also possible to make daytrips to the nearby island of Paxos. The beach is shallow and so it is easy to get into the water.

Remember that the beach is generally quieter in the morning as clubbers are rarely out of bed before lunchtime, though some sleep off their hangovers on the sand. Many of the hotels have small outdoor pools, which a surprising number of visitors seem to prefer to the sea. Sleeping off hangovers seems to take up a fair proportion of most visitors' time, but those who feel up to it might take a trip in a glass-bottom boat to view underwater life.
There is also a go-kart track at St Peter's, 1.5km (1 mile) north of Kavos (on the main road). Kavos has several small supermarkets catering for everyday necessities and cheap alcohol, plus the usual souvenir shops selling tourist tat - postcards, beachwear and T-shirts. There is a regular bus connection with Corfu town which takes about two hours. Just like in many other villages of Corfu it is mainly visited by people from England.
